How This Is Calculated (2025/2026 Rates)

  • EPF (KWSP): Employee 11% (below 60). Employer 13% for wages up to RM5,000, or 12% above RM5,000. Ages 60-75: employee 0%, employer 4%. Matches KWSP's official Third Schedule: wages are grouped into bands (RM20 wide up to RM5,000, RM100 wide above), and the rate is applied to the band's upper limit -- not your exact wage -- then rounded up to the next ringgit, same as a real payslip.
  • SOCSO: PERKESO's official wage-banded contribution table (Act 4, First Category), roughly 0.5% employee / 1.75% employer, capped at a RM6,000 wage ceiling (effective since October 2024). Figures here are the exact table amounts, not a percentage approximation.
  • EIS: PERKESO's official wage-banded table (Act 800), roughly 0.2% employee / 0.2% employer, same RM6,000 ceiling.
  • Lindung 24 Jam (SKBBK): PERKESO scheme covering non-work-related accidents 24/7, effective 1 June 2026. Employee-only. Launched mandatory, then made opt-out (not opt-in) for local employees from 9 July 2026 -- employees are enrolled and contributing by default, so this calculator includes it unless unchecked. Uncheck if you've filed a PERKESO opt-out declaration. Mandatory for foreign workers.
  • Estimated Tax (PCB): Annualized salary, minus RM9,000 personal relief and up to RM4,000 EPF relief, taxed at LHDN's YA2025 progressive brackets, divided by 12. This is an estimate only -- actual PCB depends on marital status, dependents, and other reliefs.
  • Disclaimer: This calculator is a guide for Malaysian citizen employees only and does not replace your payslip, employer's payroll system, or LHDN/KWSP/PERKESO's own calculators.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is take-home salary calculated in Malaysia?

Take-home pay is your gross monthly salary minus EPF, SOCSO, and EIS employee contributions, and monthly income tax (PCB).

What is the EPF contribution rate in Malaysia?

11% employee / 13% or 12% employer for employees below 60, depending on wage band. See the breakdown above for full details.

Is the tax estimate here exact?

No -- it's a simplified estimate using standard reliefs only. For exact PCB, check your payslip or LHDN's official calculator.

What is LINDUNG 24 Jam (SKBBK)?

A PERKESO scheme covering non-work-related accidents around the clock, effective 1 June 2026. It's employee-only and opt-out (not opt-in) for local employees since 9 July 2026 -- so employees are enrolled and contributing by default, which is how this calculator treats it unless you uncheck it. Mandatory for foreign workers.
